What decides the price
- Type: signing only, encryption only, or a signing + encryption combo
- Holder: individual or organisation
- Validity: 1, 2 or 3 years; longer validity costs less per year
- USB token: a one-time cost, and an existing compatible token can often be reused
- Special certificates such as DGFT
Watch for hidden extras
Some sellers quote a low certificate price and then add token, verification or "processing" charges. Always ask for the total price, including GST.
Renew or buy new?
When your certificate expires you need a new certificate, but you can usually keep your existing token. That alone can lower the cost.
